On January 13, 2023 Mr. Ibrahim Salim Mohamed Almusharrekh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Belarus paid a visit to Belarusian State Technological University.

Ihar Voitau, Rector of Belarusian State Technological University brought to the attention of Mr. Ambassador a detailed overview of educational programs and research activities of BSTU. Mr. Ibrahim Salim Mohamed Almusharrekh visited the exhibition hall of research developments, the museum of history and education, the wood library and a GIS laboratory of the Department of Forest Inventory. ?

The educational and research capacity of the University was duly appreciated by the UAE Ambassador who also offered his kind assistance in building sustainable partnerships with the UAE universities of matching profile. According to Mr. Ibrahim Salim Mohamed Almusharrekh, there are ample opportunities for implementation of joint research projects in such areas as desert greening, combating desertification, wastewater treatment, production and application of highly-effective organomineral fertilizers, green economy and climate change.
