Minsk, November 26, 2025 – A delegation of Dalian Polytechnic University (China) headed by its Rector Li Changwu visited Belarusian State Technological University.? The main purpose of the visit was to discuss practical issues of the newly-opened Joint DPU-BSTU Institute launched in September 2025.?
The guests were offered a rather packed programme of the visit. They took the opportunity to have a close look at laboratory facilities and research capacity of BSTU. The DPU delegation visited exhibition of research developments of BSTU scholars, Museum of History and Education, key laboratories and departments such as Department of Tourism, Nature Management and Hunting, Wood Library (Xylotheque), applied research laboratory for plant protection, laboratory for crystallography, mineralogy and petrography, Department of Biotechnology, Department of Glass, Ceramics and Binding Materials Technology, Department of chemical Wood Processing and Department of Polymer Composite Materials.??
The delegation also had a working meeting with the BSTU senior management. The parties had an excellent opportunity to discuss the current issues of the Joint Institute and share their ideas on such crucial matters as amendment and improvement of curricula, management of teaching and learning process, staffing, research cooperation and academic mobility.
The meeting was hosted by BSTU Rector Serhei Kasperovich who expresses his cordial gratitude to the former BSTU Rector Ihar Voitau for successful launching of the strategic project.?
“The Joint Institute is an ambitious yet challenging project that is aimed at strengthening our partnership. We are ready to expand the scope of our cooperation and figure on success. As clearly pronounced by the leaders of both nations, the all-weather and all-round cooperation lays solid foundations for the well-being of our countries”, Serhei Kasperovich said.
The visit wrapped up by signing a bilateral protocol on further development of the Joint DPU-BSTU Institute.
“We are convinced the visit will give a new momentum to our cooperation and provide excellent background for upscale development of the Joint Institute. In China we say ‘well begun is half done’ and we see the project had a good start and is bound to succeed”, the Chinese party mentioned.??
